On Wednesday 4 and Friday 6 September 2019, the City of Brussels organized a series of events to mark the 75th anniversary of Brussels’s liberation during World War II. It paid tribute to the US troops, the work of the resistance and the memory of the men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

After a challenging few weeks for our capital at the end of 2015, the City of Brussels wanted to lighten the mood, uniting local residents and Belgians to emphasize that Brussels is a lively, friendly, open, creative and diverse city that we can all be proud of. For over eight hours on Saturday 30 January, the city centre celebrated peace and tolerance at a free event held at Brussels Stock Exchange.
Over 7,000 people came to be part of this unforgettable experience. From 16:30 to midnight, visitors were able to enjoy street entertainment and local culinary specialties whilst listening to Belgian and international artists sing or express their attachment to Brussels. A talk show was recorded simultaneously in the Stock Exchange, hosting guests from different backgrounds.

Since its creation in 2002 and until 2014, the Brussels Summer Festival was organized by BME.
This multicultural, festive and popular event takes place in the heart of the city and offers a diverse program with different music styles : from rock to hip hop, over jazz, pop, classical or even world music, music fans are not outdone.
Over time, the BSF has welcomed hundreds of international and Belgian artists, from Texas to Hooverphonic, Patti Smith, Front 242, M, IAM, James Arthur, Channel Zero, Axelle Red, Suede, Archive, Charlie Winston, Level 42, Roger Hodgson, Iggy & The Stooges… to name a few.
The popular approach and democratic prices characterize the event that collaborated with cultural and/or festive partners, active in the City of Brussels (such as various Brussels museums, bars or restaurants) in order to offer the public a truly unique concept, in addition to the outdoor and indoor concerts.
