This major event provides a sackload of attractions in the centre of Brussels: cultural activities, artistic discoveries, a large ice rink and all kinds of entertainment for young and old… plus one of Europe’s best Christmas markets (source: Best Christmas Market in Europe) with nearly 3 km of chalets offering tempting treats.

The 21st Winter Wonders will be held from 25.11.2022 to 01.01.2023.

Not to be missed: the stunning 20-metre Christmas tree standing proud on Grand-Place alongside the traditional life-size Nativity scene, framed by an unforgettable sound and light show.

Laeken firework spectacular

About feux de laeken

In 2017, 2018 and 2019, a family-friendly village opened at the foot of the Atomium every Friday between late July and August, providing various activities with five themes for all ages. The fun times culminated in a spectacular firework display lasting around twenty minutes.

Winter Pop

WINTER POP

Since its launch in 2017, this small popup village has been a huge hit year after year. It reflects the City of Brussels’s ambition to get to know our communities better through local events on their doorstep.

During the festive season, the village spends the weekends in different areas and provides lots of fun creative activities for young and old: workshops, shows, demonstrations, projection mappings, concerts, brass bands, dances, choirs, storytelling sessions and even visits to architectural highlights.

December 2022 will already be the fifth edition of WINTER POP! During three successive weekends (from 2 to 4, from 9 to 11 and from 16 to 18), these colourful little caravans will stop over in three districts of the City of Brussels.

Wallonia Brussels federation festival

The year of the 50th anniversary of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation is coming to an end. In this still festive context, many French-speaking artists from Belgium and elsewhere invite you to join them on Friday 23 September from 7.30 p.m. to celebrate with them at a free concert on the Grand-Place in Brussels!

This year, no less than fourteen French-speaking talents will be setting the stage on fire: BIGFLO & OLI, BENJAMIN BIOLAY, LOUS AND THE YAKUZA, CHRISTOPHE WILLEM, ZAP MAMA, PIERRE DE MAERE, STEPHAN EICHER, CHARLES, SUZANE, SOFIANE PAMART, YCARE, MENTISSA, RORI and ML.

Following tradition, this exceptional evening will be broadcast live and in prime time on RTBF La Une from 8.20 pm.
Access to the Grand-Place will be controlled between 6pm and 11pm. If the maximum capacity of the square is reached, they will be closed for security reasons.

Since 2017, the stunning Vaux-Hall in the Parc de Bruxelles, behind the Royal Theatre, was opened to the public in the summer months with a diverse cultural programme.

Originally a concert hall and games room opened in 1781, the venue was radically redeveloped by the City of Brussels in 1913. After falling into disrepair, it finally came back to life a few years ago.

Vaux-Hall Summer has become an event popular with young and old, who come together to attend concerts, film screenings, storytelling sessions and performances, or to take part in workshops, dance lessons, games…

Thanks to some incredible collaborations, dozens of artists showcase outdoor art in this magical location every year.

Bright lights, big city.

Launched as Shop by Lights in 2012, this growing project brings Christmas illuminations to streets and shopping districts across the City of Brussels.

From late November to early January, the heart of the capital will be filled with light patterns. With Brussels by Lights, the City of Brussels brings the magic of Christmas to our shops and shoppers.
